Day 1 was an interesting day…
7:00 a.m – 11:00 a.m.
Not the best time of the day. Our robot was completely inoperable because of an unknown issue. Turns out the power to the side car was not correctly hooked up. The inspectors were pushing us to get the robot inspected.
11:00 a.m. – 1:00 a.m
Finally went to the inspection table. We spend this time working on the robot in order to pass inspection. We would like to thank the inspector for being extremely patient with us. And to add to the problems, we find out that our minibot is illegal. We got the pneumatics to work (and pass inspection!) and deployment is starting to come together.
1:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m
Competed (luckily) in our first match of the day. We played awesome defense, and we won the match!
1:30 p.m – 2:30 p.m
Fixed a few issues with the robot. For those who want to know, we had Victor problems, PWMs being chewed up by sprockets. Then we thought we blew three Victors, turns out Simbotics gave us a faulty PWM cable.
2:30 p.m – 3:00 p.m
We played in our second match. We loss by only two points. Another excellent defense performance from our drives and Rambo (the robot).
3:00 p.m – 5:00 p.m
We completed minibot deployment. Turns out the ramp for deployment is too low. We are currently working on raising it. Minibot is fixed and passes inspection.
5:00 p.m – 5:30 p.m
We competed in our third match. We played excellent defense again, and won by a point because the other alliance received a three point penalty.
5:30 p.m – 6:00 p.m
We brainstormed on how to fix the minibot deployment.
6:00 p.m – 6:30 p.m.
We played in our final match for the day. Match did not start well because of a high speed collision with another robot. Most of our robot becomes inoperative. We are disabled and disqualified.
6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Fix the robot from the damage of the fourth match. Luckily damage was only connections that came loose. Deployment is sent to machine shop.
